Ultrasounds and Such!

Wow I have been bad and haven't made it on here to update!!! On July 27th we had an ultrasound to check on the baby's growth and all that good stuff. And guess what??

Yup! Its a little boy!!! We are beyond excited and are even more anxious to meet him! Here is a profile pic of him
I still can't believe that I have this tiny little human growing inside me, I feel his movements and it's just so surreal! The day after the ultrasound was the first time that Nick has been able to feel his son move! (Its so incredibly awesome to refer to him as 'your son' to Nick!) It was only one quick kick, but he felt it, and I will never forget the look on his face.

We have also pretty much finished his room besides furniture. I am so happy with how it turned out, and cant wait to get the crib in there and decorate it!

Last night I was picking up the house and Nick disappeared (I figured he was picking up his laundry like I asked him to-yeah I should have known better! lol) so I go looking for him and he is in the baby's room laying on the bed. I asked him what he was doing and he was like 'Ohh just taking it all in, and looking at all the little clothes'. It was soooo flippin cute! I ended up laying with him on the tiny twin size bed and we just talked about all of it, and picturing the how the furniture would look in the room....it was really sweet! It just shows me that even though he doesn't really express it, he is very excited at becoming a father.

Even my mom is so excited and just cant stop spending money! She has bought more clothes for this little guy then I have in my closet for me! (Ok not really, but it seems like it!) But I'm not complaining, I'm just as excited as she is but I'm saving my money for the necessities!

The below pic was taken July 19th when I was a day shy of 18 weeks so its a little old, but I still love it! Ill update with another next week!

Money, Movements and Emotions

Lately I have been overly emotional, and almost feel like the world around me is closing in. I worry about how we really can afford to bring another life into this world, I have anxiety about how the baby is growing, and just really wonder if I am cut out to be a mom. I know that we will always make it work, that the baby is perfectly healthy, and that we will do great as new parents, but I cant keep it from weighing on my mind. So in order to help ease at least some of my worries I decided to listen to Poppy's heartbeat with my handy dandy doppler. I'm laying there on the bed listening to this little heart pound away and I kept hearing these little swishing sounds and cant help but wonder if it could be Poppy moving around. And then it happens! Under the little doppler I feel pressure building and pushing out wards, I hear a swish and feel a thump! I was listening and feeling the baby's little movements! It really helped cheer me up, and I still haven't stopped smiling about it!

And on a side note!! Nick has deserved a raise at work for a long time. He finally brought it up to his boss and found out today that effective Aug 1st, he will be making about $400 more a month!! That is a huge relief and I am so happy for him! So I guess for a shitty week, today hasn't turned out so bad!

Ahhh friends!

So as many of you know, I have battled depression off and on for a long time. Slowly I have been able to pinpoint my major triggers and discovered that my main one is loneliness. And not in the 'I have no one' way because I have Nick whom is my soul mate and best friend, but in the 'I don't have friends' way. Over the years I somehow turned into a recluse and shut a lot of people out of my life, I really regret doing that and have been wanting to repair some long lost relationships. So I joined two little communities called Myspace and Facebook, and wow! Slowly I have found many of the people I have lost over the years, and was able to reconnect with them! Its really amazing where others are in their lives, and I truly am very proud of the people I called friends.

In my endeavors I have opened new doors to old relationships, and even doors to new relationships. I have gone to lunch with a new friend, spent hours on the phone with another new friend, spent countless hours chatting online with both new and old friends, gone for walks and drinks with an old (and very important) friend, and visited another old friend and fell in love with her little ones. Its really amazing that you can spend time with someone that you haven't seen in about 8ish years, and its like no time has passed in between. And for this I want to say to all my friends out there that I really love you and you do mean a whole bunch to me, and not just that but thanks for letting me keep my sanity! I cant wait to see where this particular chapter in my life leads to, and I know it will only be good things!

Baby growing!

Well I had an appointment today to check on the baby, and everything went great! Heartbeat was 150 bpm!! I really am starting to get excited about this entire experience (well except for the money Im shelling out but thats another story) everything has just been so wonderful and amazing! Im very excited for July 27th which is the big ultra sound when we will be able to make sure the baby is growing right and should be able to get a peek at the gender. So far everyones guess has been blue...Im curious to see if that holds true or not! Even a stranger at the drs office said blue! lol I would really be happy either way, but Nick is rooting for blue as well. I guess we will see on July 27th!

My first blog!

Well, Ive decided to finally start up a blog so family and friends can keep in touch and see what is happening in my life! So I guess I will start with the basics! I got married on 3/8/2004 to the man of my dreams, and life has been great so far! We are expecting our first baby which is due to arrive around 12/22/09, we are both just ecstatic and cant wait! We also have 2 dogs and 2 cats who are so great...and yet manage to drive me insane on a daily basis! I guess I should introduce them to you

This is Nakeva, she is a husky wolf mix and the best dog I could ever ask for

This is Roscoe, AKA Ross, AKA pain in the butt! We rescued him because he was being severely abused, he has totally flourished since he was added to our family. We aren't really sure what he is, but our guess is a red heeler mixed maybe with beagle.

This is Cleo, he is the oldest of our clan, and is really known as Mr. Attitude! He really is a sweet cat...just dont annoy him!

And last but not least is Gizzmoe, AKA Moe. He is our laid back goofball.

Well that about sums up my life so far! Well its not everything about me, but its a start! Keep checking in for updates on Poppy (my nickname for the baby!) and all other aspects of my life!
